Biography
Arno Venter was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 2001,in the same year he began his pupillage with the Johannesburg Society of Advocates, officially becoming a practicing advocate on 1 July 2001.
Arno’s legal journey started in 1998 at the Department of Justice as a clerk at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court. He attended Justice College and earned both his B.Iuris and LL.B degrees through Unisa. These qualifications supported his progression through various roles, including State Prosecutor and Magistrate in both civil and criminal courts.
From 1 January 2018 to 1 July 2024, Arno took a leave of absence from legal practice to serve as Chief Operations Officer at a company active in local and international short term insurance. This role gave him first-hand insight into the internal workings and legal requirements of the insurance industry.
Arno resumed his practice on 1 January 2025. His expertise includes general civil litigation, insurance law, insolvency, immigration matters, criminal law, and all aspects related to firearms law. He is also experienced in chairing disciplinary hearings.
