Biography
Estelle joined the Department of Justice in 1976 and worked as a prosecutor and senior state advocate in various Magistrate Courts and High Courts until 1992, when she joined the Johannesburg Society of Advocates.
Estelle specialises in criminal law, particularly white-collar crime; police delict (unlawful arrest and detention); unlawful search and seizure; forfeiture applications and matters emanating from the SIU Tribunal. She acted as judge in the High Court between 2014 to 2015.
Estelle has served on the Professional Committee at the JSA Council from 2014 to 2014. She served as assistant examiner of the criminal procedure examination paper since 2018 to 2024, when she was appointed as the chief examiner for the General Council Examination Board in 2024.
