Biography
After joining the Johannesburg Bar in 1983, Tim spent his first two years of practice doing mainly criminal work, motion court work and commercial work. From 1985 to 1990 his practice consisted mainly of human rights and political work, doing both criminal and civil cases.
From 1990 to the present, his practice has focused on insurance law and labour law. Besides attending to trials, review and applications in the Labour Court, Tim is also a senior part-time Commissioner at the CCMA, having been appointed as such in 1998. He is also a Commissioner at various Bargaining Councils, including the SALGBC and SSSBC.
In addition to chairing arbitrations in the field of labour law, Tim has also represented parties and acted as the chairperson at private arbitrations.
